Arrowroot (Maranta arundinaceae) is a plant of the ginger family. It is also known as arrowroot, golden bamboo shoots, bamboo taro, and tapioca. It is mainly planted in low-altitude mountainous areas and harvested from November to April of the following year. Arrowroot is mainly used by crushing the rhizome and washing it with water to extract the powder (that is, the tapioca in ancient times).
